Ho Ho the Mistletoe!

It's that time of year again, a time of love and remembrance of Christ's birth. Also, a time of stress over money, schedules, decorating etc. It seems like the older I get the more aware of these stresses of Christmas I become. I have talked to people about the best way to approach Christmas with kids and have come to the conclusion as always that there is no right way. But, I don't think that it is my way to forget about Santa altogether. I think that using Santa in the right way as a symbol of giving and teaching your children the similarities between Santa and Christ not to be sac religious you need to read the book that my mother gave me a while back called I believe in Santa. I hope to try and teach my children that Christmas is about giving and receiving, but mostly about Christ. I have found that you can look around and find symbols of Christ all over the Christmas Season. I hope that we can all recognize these symbols in our lives and remember Christ this Christmas Season.

As an early Christmas present we bought a Zoo pass and we had so much fun. Lizzie loved the Scarlet Macaw and my favorite was the rhino. Lizzie is getting big enough to actually look at a lot of the animals. It was fun for us also because neither one of us had ever been to another zoo besides Hogle.
We had a great vacation these last two weeks and we are so grateful to everyone for being so generous to us. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful family who loves us so much. THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Test Time

Hey guys thanks for a great week, we had a lot of fun visiting up in Utah. It is nice to be back home too, we missed Dad and River. We had a great Halloween and Lizzie was a beautiful butterfly. Thanks to the Lee's for letting us stay at your house, we had fun hanging out with Sammie. Our flight back to AZ was a little crowded but we are lucky that it is only an hour and 10 mins long. Brian is starting finals tomorrow and we are gearing up for another long week, but we can't wait for Friday, it is our light at the end of the tunnel. Today we got to substitute in nursery and so it makes for a long Sunday but we love the kids and appreciate those that do it every week. We can't wait to see you all again next week, if we don't get to update this, this week it is because our internet is not working all that well right now. Love you all

Hey it is almost Halloween and Lizzie and I are having so much fun in UT. It has been great to see you all. Brian and River are missing us a lot and are looking forward to our return home. We have been pretty busy here, we were lucky enough to get to hang out with our cousins, and have a Halloween party. Congrats to Mary and her wonderful baby Sam. We love you all and hope you have a spooky Halloween.

Almost there

Lizzie and I were sitting here for another day wondering after we had made breakfast, went on a walk, done the laundry and the dishes and it wasn't even 10, what we were going to do today? I decided to write a little something to everyone to kind of update what we have been up to. Brian has had a lot of tests the past three weeks and so Lizzie, River and I have been entertaining ourselves a lot. We did breakfast club this week and got our visiting teaching done and read and watched movies. Now it is Saturday and we have two more days of Brian studying for one more test before he gets some sort of break for a few days and Tuesday we are flying back to Utah for a little while fun! We did update the blog page and we lost a couple of pics so if you have any requests that I didn't put on pleas tell me and I will do so. I hope that you guys enjoy the slide show it was kind of fun to put together it is amazing how fast she has grown. It does have music that goes with it but down in the left bottom corner of the slide show you can click the speaker to turn the music off or on whatever you prefer.
Can't wait to see you all and hope everything is going well, I expect to get pictures from everyone of the Halloween party and I want to know who had the best costume this year. Love you all

Second Year Blues

I have officially decided that his second year is more demanding than the first year. He has had two tests every week for the past two weeks and he is not done yet. Which makes it harder on us because we don't get as much attention from him, but what do you do? Lizzie is growing up so fast, I can't keep up with her, she has figured out how to get up into a sitting position from her back so now I can't leave her anywhere unattended. She has all of the sudden decided to be really picky when she eats and it is quite a trick finding something she will eat. So, all in all life is normal. The weather this weekend is supposed to be cooler and I am way excited about that, and we can't wait to come visit.
