Winter Wonderland

It truly is a White Christmas here in Utah. We've been having so much fun playing with our family. I can say though I don't take enough pics, and traveling between the two Grandparents houses I feel a little strung out. I am always missing something and I can truly say I feel pregnant because I am constantly looking for something I have misplaced. Today Lizzie made her first snowman (with the help of her daddy). It was so cute because she is a little obsessed with Frosty and when we put the hat on his head she asked if he could walk around. I had to explain that real Frosty's don' t walk we just have to pretend. I felt so bad because I know in her mind she was totally expecting to play with Frosty all day. She just keeps saying Frosty won't melt, and I have to reassure her that he will be there later. Hope everyone is having a good Holiday season, it is nice to have our husbands home for a few weeks. I Love Christmas!

Holiday Fun

I haven't posted for a while because we've been so busy. It's nice to get to play with all of our family and friends. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with great food and not a lot of sleep.
Some things we have been doing:

  • Playing with grandparents
  • Enjoying some snow for the first time
  • Hanging with lots of cousins
  • Eating a lot of good food (gaining a lot of weight)
  • Just having a good time
I'll try to keep posting but they may not be as frequent as usual. Hope everyone is having a fun holiday season!

She is finally old enough to start to play with her cousins and boy does she love them!

Love Sego Lilly thanks Emily for having a birthday, and another reason to get together!

Fun in the snow at papa's cabin even if the gloves kept falling off.

Thanksgiving yeah for good food!

We love grandparents!

The Results are in!

It's official the majority wins! It's a GIRL! We are really excited and yes everything looks perfect, she even stuck her tongue out for the camera. Lizzie suggested that we name her little sister but we have yet to come up with something better than that and actually agree on it. Girls names are really hard for us and we already used up the one that we both agree on. We are just happy to have a healthy little one on the way!

Fun Times!

The Zoo and some good friends what more could you want out of life? Yesterday we went to the Zoo with some of our friends here. We had a lot of fun and even got to pet the goats. It was a beautiful day, we are so lucky to have good friends. Thanks, Jen and Melissa!

Bubbles Anyone?

We haven't gotten the bubble machine out lately because I thought that it had gone to bubble machine heaven. But after a little tender love and care I was able to revive it and lo and behold it's like getting a new toy all over again. I really need to start hiding some of her toys for a few months. So she decided to perform for the camera I thought it was funny. I hope you do too!

Nothing really exciting!

We are gearing up for our big trip home on Saturday and we can't wait! Lizzie has been a little sick with a runny nose and Brian is getting ready for his test on Friday. We have discovered the joy of Christmas lights thanks to the Johnsons down the street. We literally wait all day until it is dark enough to go for a walk and see the lights. We have decided that we are going to miss the 70 to 80 degree weather down here. I am excited to see some snow but really where else can you enjoy Christmas lights in your shorts and a light jacket. We are keeping busy and the days are flying by. I love the holidays!

It's Raining, it's Pouring!

When it rains here it pours, and then it is over it is really quite amazing. Lizzie truly enjoyed this last rain storm yesterday. This was the first time I have seen her be that brave and by the end she and her dad were running through the puddles. It was great!

Yeah for Marriage!

I have been trying to find an official say and it might be a little early but as far as I can tell Arizona said yes to prop 102. Which means that gay marriage can never be legal here. It has been an interesting election but hopefully we can all look forward with hope of some big changes in our country.

Really the best dad EVER!

Last post I made a comment or two about how Lizzie is upset about no more Halloween, the first day we told her it was over she cried and every once in a while she would ask me if Halloween was still over. So determined to get her excited about Thanksgiving Brian set out to help her get over her Halloween blues. So far they have made a turkey, a pilgrim, a Thanksgiving potty chart, and a Thanksgiving name tag that she wears around her neck like her daddies name tag. It's no wonder she loves him so much. I can't help but like him a little too!

K Now What?

Halloween is officially over and we don't know what to do. Lizzie looks forward to our nightly walks to see all the Halloween lights she is going to be so disappointed tonight when we go out and all the lights are off and people have put their decor away. How do you explain to a 2 year old that Halloween is over and we have to wait a whole year for the next one?
We had a lot of fun yesterday Brian's school does a trick-or-treat party and we got a lot of candy this morning Lizzie is just going through her bag and opening everything to see what it is and if she likes it. She has decided anything that melts or gets stuck in her teeth isn't that cool so pretty much she sticks to suckers which is fine with me because then she eats less candy. After wards we went to one of our friends houses for soup and snacks she is a great cook. It we had started our night at 3:30 so by 8:30 all of us were done and we called it a night. I forgot my camera so we didn't get any actual Halloween pics but I figured that last week made up for it.

A fun filled day!

Yesterday was a good day all around. It started out with Brian getting an email to come pass out fliers for our ward. Here in AZ we have a proposition that the church is urging us to get the word out about. It has to do with marriage between a man and a woman. It is really a great thing and it felt really good to go help our ward spread the news. On Brian's way to pick up the fliers he noticed a toddler bed for sale in a yard sale. We have been looking for one for a while now. He was able to get it for 20 dollars plus the mattress we were way excited. So our little girl is officially a big girl she is potty trained and now she sleeps in a big girl bed (if any one has any suggestions as to how to keep her in bed I am looking for advice, today she fell asleep on the floor). It was also produce week and we got some good stuff. Later that night we had our ward trunk-or-treat and we convinced Lizzie to wear her costume and with only a mild meltdown she realized that it was fun to dress up. She wore it the whole time and she loved trick-or-treating she is now an official candy addict along with the rest of the world. We then had another party at our friends Brett and Rachel's and we carved pumpkins and had a lot of fun. Lizzie was honestly the highlight of the party because none of our friends there had kids, on the way home it was 10 at night (way past her bed time we are horrible parents) Lizzie asked if we could go to another party. Along with candy she loves parties also, as long as she is the center of the fun. She also made a great friend we didn't get a pic I was sad but Brett and Rachel's new dog Tucker is her new best friend (I think he liked the chocolate on her hands) but he followed her around half the night it was really cute. Thanks guys we had a lot of fun!

Lizzie in her new big girl bed!

Just getting to the trunk-or-treat

Loving the pumpkins and her costume yeah!

Helping to clean out her first pumpkin, she wouldn't touch the guts no matter how hard I tried.

Some good friends Kevin and Kalie, and Jeff and Hilary

Cute pumpkins you can't see ours it is the first one but it's ok it wasn't the best one.
We didn't take as many pics as I would have liked so for more on our fun night with friends check out Rachel's page.

I haven't posted forever, but I keep putting it off. My mother came over the weekend and we played a lot. We went to in'n out to many times, we went shopping for Halloween things since Lizzie is obsessed, we went to the Zoo and had a lot of fun. Lizzie and her are truly kindred spirits. I am afraid we had so much fun we forgot to take pics but here are a couple we did manage, thanks mom for coming and playing with us we love you!

What we have been up to. . .

I haven't posted in a while because I didn't really have any pics to put up but last night I took a few to show what we have been doing. Nothing to exciting but it's just our life.

First thanks to all those who helped with my peaches I successfully canned and jammed (I don't think that is the correct term but you get the point) a whole box of peaches yeah! Oh by the way we made a whole lot more but I had already put it away when I decided to take a pic so this is all you get to see.

In our ward the bishop's wife has been teaching sewing classes and it's been really fun. We made aprons and they turned out great. Excuse the model it was late last night when we took the pic.

Finally, we have been working on singing the ABC's with Lizzie and I think it is catching on (maybe).

Peaches!

Help I am attempting to can some peaches all by myself! I have a whole box of peaches and I was planning on making jam out of half the box and I have done that plenty of times but I have never canned peaches. I read up on it and it sounds pretty easy but I don't have a canner. If anyone has one or knows anyone who does please let me know I think you can seal them with just boiling water but I don't know for sure. If anyone has any tips I am all ears thanks!

Potty Time!

We have been trying the three day potty training this past weekend and we are pretty happy with the results. It's been keeping us busy but we haven't had a wet bed or messy underwear. We still have the occasional wet pantie issue but if I keep on top of it we are pretty successful. She is doing great for going cold turkey from diapers to panties. Don't you wish we all looked this cute in our underwear?

The things you learn!

Five things I have learned from a two year old:
1. Always check pockets for green crayons before putting in the dryer.
2. Nap time always seems to come at the same time as nursery.
3. A little kiss can fix almost anything (even if you have to do it yourself).
4. Life is better if you stop and smell all the roses (not just one).
5. No one compare's to Daddy!

Thanks Lizzie for bringing so much joy and laughter into our lives. I can't imagine our world without you. Happy Birthday your so big!

Thursday was Lizzie's Birthday but we didn't celebrate it until yesterday so her dad could be there. We had so much fun playing all day long. Here are a couple highlights . . . .

Thanks everyone for the wonderful packages and cards it really made her Birthday special!

You can't get much more excited than this she is a great present opener.

A little pre-cupcake frosting there isn't much better than getting to lick the beaters.

Two candles on the cupcake this year!

Modeling her new pajamas with her balloons (thanks Lee's we love them).
A little good night kiss at the end of a long day of partying.

We decided to take some pictures on Sunday because Lizzie looked so cute. Brian convinced me to get in one and I have officially decided that Lizzie is much more photogenic than I am but I thought that I should put both pics on anyway so no mocking. It was a good day because Lizzie made it all the way through nursery without crying, I think that this is the first week she hasen't come back with red eyes. Yeah for us!

My Little Diva!

For the longest time Lizzie has been coming up with creative things to use as a purse. We have been trying to wait until her Birthday to get her a purse because it is coming up. But, Brian and yes it was his idea broke down and they went out and they picked it out together. Since then the moment we walk out the door she has to have it, along with her sunglasses. Then she has to make sure that mommy has her purse and sunglasses also. It is really cute, I honestly don't know where she came from I really think I have only bought two purses at the most in my life. She got a lot of Grammy Kari in her. Oh, and I asked her to take her finger out of her mouth for the pic so of course all of them have her finger in her mouth.

Fashion Show!

I love finding new clothes in the back of the closet that we haven't worn yet. I found these cute pj's in her closet the other day that she got for a baby shower and they are 24 months. Yeah because her last pajama's wore out and they just are no good. Grammy Kari wanted to see them so here is our fashion show, blankie and all. Can you tell that our lives are very uneventful right now, since we are posting about pajamas sorry we aren't that exciting.

Some seriouse bed head!

Cade this one is for you! I remember back in the day when I would watch my cousins we would always laugh when Cade woke up and his hair was all over the place. We would always tease that the cow had been busy licking his head all night (hence cow licks). I really think that Lizzie can beat out anybody with her great bed head. Perhaps she just rolls around all night instead of sleeping who knows but wow.
This picture doesn't even do it justice but it was the best I could do.

On a more random note I have officially decided that disney clasics will always be clasic. Lately when we go to the library Lizzie has been into getting movies like Dora the Explorer and Bob the Builder and Elmo's world. Don't get me wrong they are all great, but I prefere the classics like 101Dalmaions and Peter Pan. You just can't go wrong there I mean who doesn't want to watch Little Mermaid from time to time. They just don't make them like they used to.

Finger Paint

The other day we bought Lizzie some finger paints because she hates getting her hands dirty and this way she could get used to it and have some fun too! Well the other day she took it to the next level and decided to use it as body paint. She thought that she was so funny we were laughing right along with her!

We have been busy!

I was looking at my blog and thinking about how I really needed to post but, I didn't have a lot to write about. We have been busy doing a whole lot of nothing. Really last week we played with baby Casey who we watch during the week. We played with dad and just hung out, our lives are kind of slow right now. In the mean time I did find a cute picture of Lizzie to post and hopefully this post doesn't put you to sleep because it might put me to sleep.

I can not tell you how many times growing up when I was getting ready for bed I would run into my dad's closet and find one of his t-shirts and put it on for my pj's. I know that I am not the only kid who slept in their dad's t-shirt. The other day Brian put one of his shirts on Lizzie and it just brought back so many memories of sleeping in my dad's shirts that I had to take a picture, isn't she cute?

Not enough media attention

I was thinking that it was time to give River a little blogging time since she is such a good friend to Lizzie. She doesn't get enough credit when it comes to how good she really is with Lizzie. She suffers through multiple wacks (I don't know if that is a word) she is often a pillow and sometimes even a seat and through it all she never growls and is often giving kisses instead. We have pondered getting a second dog because we never know how long River will be with us, but we can't imagine finding one as good with Lizzie as River is. Just wanted to explain this picture a little in this new house everything is tile and when River sits on it she slides which really bugs her. In this picture she wanted to sit down so she sat right next to the wall so her butt wouldn't slide we thought that it was really funny.

Lizzie Loves River Too!

Yeah for fresh food!

I love fresh produce! There is a lady in our neighborhood who loves to find good deals on food, she is the queen of coupons and such. Twice a month she has this thing where we bring her 15 dollars and a laundry basket and she brings it back to us a couple of days later full of fresh produce. It is awesome I have so much that I am afraid that it will go bad before I use it all. If anyone has any ideas what to do with cabbage I am up for any ideas. Other than that I am going to be in heaven this week. Lizzie too she loves grapes I have to regulate how many she eats so she doesn't get a stomach ache.

A Lot of Random Things!

I finally got my camera back so bear with me while I post some fun pictures that were taken while we were on vacation this past July.

Bath time is always more fun with friends!

Yeah for aunt Ax (Lizzie wants to be just like her when she grows up)

Fun with the cousin's, we are so lucky to have so many fun girls to hang out with!

Welcome home Lindsey we love you!

I think that we should be in the Olympics!

Go Nana, need I say more?

Two Diva's!

Next, I finally finished Breaking Dawn, I have this copy if anyone needs one to borrow just tell me. Wow is all I have to say, I am not sure if I loved it but it definitely had some twists. The first one was still my favorite. If you want to discuss just call me or leave a post.

Finally my last item of business, last night as I was getting ready for bed this is what we found in our bath tub, can you say scary. So of course all night I was sure that there was going to be one in my bed. I had to get on the internet and see if this was the infamous bark scorpion, and as far as I can tell I am pretty sure that it's not. But did you know that there are over 40 different species of scorpions in AZ alone, yeah that is enough to freak me out completely, my only consolation is that there hasn't been a single death in AZ from a scorpion in the last 20 years, unless you are allergic to them you will most likely have a really nasty sting and some pain. But still agh!
